Merseyside based Barndance band Two Left Feet was formed seven years ago, and consists of Richard Wilde on fiddle and melodeon, Gail Wilde on flute, clarinet, saxophone and recorders, Jon Mayhew on guitar, mandolins, and bodhran, and Jonathan Heyes on bass, guitar, and flute.
The caller on the night explains the dances to the audience, each in their own inimitable style, ensuring that nothing can possibly go wrong (well that's the theory anyway). We have a huge repertoire of music and dances from the British Isles, and America. The caller explains each dance before we play it. Then we let rip! The band plays for all the main Ceilidh nights, namely Burns Night, St. Andrew's Day, St. Patrick's Day, New Years Eve, and Hoe Downs for American Independence Day. We have performed in all the major venues in the North West, including Knowsley Hall, Liverpool and Chester Town Halls, the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, The Lowry, Salford, Haydock Racecourse, and Lancashire Cricket Ground, Old Trafford. For the Queens Jubilee Celebrations we performed in Chester for public celebrations and the lighting of the Chester Beacon, and later on at Eaton Hall for the Duke of Westminster's Jubilee Celebration. We've played at the BBC Music Live Festival, broadcast on the BBC, been twice featured on Radio Merseyside's Folk Scene programme, as well as many other local radio stations around the country - and we've eaten more cold buffets than you've had hot dinners.... Corporate Clients have included J.C.B. (50th Birthday Celebrations at Uttoxeter), Boots, Barclays Bank and many others. We are available for festivals, film or television work, session work, as well as private bookings. The band is available as a 4 or 5 piece band (this always includes the caller). |
